Active Deep Water 4 Pot System

Deep water culture allows the roots of the plants to be totally submerged into a highly oxygenated nutrient rich solution, providing fast and efficient growth.

This active deep water culture hydroponics 4 pot system constantly aerates and moves the water and nutrients around inside the system, re-circulating it through each grow pot and back to the main header pot of the system.

This deep water culture system design uses a pot inside a pot. The outer pots are all connected together at the bottom to the header pot allowing the solution to re-circulate through the system, and the inner pots have one large hole at the bottom to allow water and nutrients to freely drain through the system. An air stone is connected over the hole in the inner grow pot and the flow of bubbles rising in the centre of the pot pushes all root growth towards the outer edge of the inner grow pot, preventing the roots from being pulled through the hole and into the bottom pot. This method prevents any roots from blocking your pipes and allows the system to re-circulate easily. A pump in the header pot delivers water and nutrients into each pot constantly or at timed intervals if preferred, this prevents the solution remaining in one pot and also allows more control for managing your solution. An air pump is connected to all air stones placed inside each inner grow pot and header pot, delivering bubbles directly to the roots of your plants. The 100 litre reservoir has an air curtain inside as well with an air pump connected, to keep any stored water and nutrients highly oxygenated. The reservoir can be used for either keeping full and ready to refill the growing system or it can be used to pump the water and nutrients that are in the system back into the reservoir for adjustments, then simply open the tap and release it back into the system. A pump in the header pot is connected to the pipe and placed into the reservoir, this pipe can be used for emptying the system into the reservoir or it can be pulled out of the reservoir and used to pump and drain the growing system of all water and nutrients. Each pot can store 18 litres of solution, making a total of 90 litres in the system and 100 litres in the reservoir. Propagation domes are used at the beginning, to establish your plants well, and eventually they can be removed for plants to be grown taller.
