This superb lighting unit from Canatronics is amazing, just one cable and plug to mains with no contactor or timer needed, they are built into unit, making it a fullyautomatic lighting system. Ballast is vented at top and bottom to allow air flow toensure cool running, 2 metres of cable from moulded plug into the ballast and 4metres of cable out of the ballast to reflector. The reflector is highly polished anodised dimpled aluminium with a 3mm aluminium heat sink running along the top of the reflector to draw heat away from the lamp, reflector gives a superb even distribution of light. Lumatek ballasts are something special, designed for high intensity discharge lighting they are becoming a popular seller for reasons explained. For many years running costs of HID lighting has been an issue for every grower, these ballasts run at 25% less than normal core/coil ballasts, core/coil ballasts after time start to product a buzzing noise, lumatek ballasts do not produce any buzzing noise after time, they are shielded so they will not interfere with other signals close by, and on tests a 600w lumatek ballast and 600w HPS lamp produced 5% less lumens than a 1000w core/coil ballast and lamp produced, amazing results at a much cheaper running cost.
